The .png background image for the text container is not supported by IE, but degrades OK. The container is padded to scroll the text above the image.

Yeah, I thought about that, but it took the contrast out of the overall design. The quick solution was just to allow the text div plenty of scroll room at the bottom to get it above the background.
The png background in that div isn't supported by IE, so I didn't put too much time into a workaround.

the view is different to the preview, when i click "view",i can not see the transparent effect.

Great work - have you thought about absolute positioning on your menu? Also, the text is hard to read when its at the botom - maybe you could use a black layer with lower alpha instead of white? Thoughts?
