Nice design. Small FF design issue. The red box in the top left does not expand on FF.

I'd like to see how it'd all fit together with some images and larger text in the main area!
One thing: I'd like to be able to have the hover effect on the whole button in the menu, not just above the text...

I have to echo the comment about the nav boxes. They look like buttons and thus should act as buttons. Otherwise it confuses/irritates the user.

This design is very appealing to me. Especially the fact that it's a nice "full-width" design.
But take a look at the design with a very small width... everything falls over. A fixed min. width would improve this ;)
Anyway good job.

There's definitely room for improvement, but it's really nice!
