can someone tell me how he got the mousover to change the images from black to red and vice versa?

The design seems to be very good and wonderful!
However, I ask about usability. What is the left column? is it navigation or listing for the newest items or articles?
I think it is the latest one, i.e Articles index or archieve. In this case there is a hidden problem with articles titles. The example shows short titles such as "nibh quic nunc" but how will it seem if the title is " Lorem ipsum qultars odila phsfani hnkolumxa Subsot?"
