I am nowhere close to calling myself a web designer, nor will I ever be. But I've been learning a thing or two...I made my photography site, www.shawnmac.net, using a template from here. It took days and days to figure out how to fully customize it and make any design changes.
Now, I'm using the "Red Tie" template to create a website for my job at Hunter College. I replaced the tie, changed the color of the top bar, and now I'm going dizzy adding content and getting all of the pages ready. I'm working with straight code in Notepad, which I realize might not be the proper way to go about doing things, um, but that's all I know. And that's how you learn--total immersion.
