This is definitely a good start. I like the idea with the menu links, quite a novel idea. I agree with weewebber though, the colours could do with being softened a touch, maybe a bit more contrast between the orange and blue. Otherwise nice one =]

The blue and orange is hideous and I'm changing that but otherwise I like it. I think lime green will show up well on the orange but we'll see.
I'm also changing the emphasis on the purple.

Really like the general feel of this layout and simple logo though for me a bit bright for the eyes.
